The Chardham Yatra is a series of steps that bring pilgrims closer to salvation. The tour starts at Yamunotri and goes to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Hindus hold these four sacred locations, which are all part of Uttarakhand's Chota Char Dham, extremely high regard. Each of these four locations is devoted to a devoted divine being.
Yamunotri is dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna, who accompany the pilgrims to the charming Rawai Valley's high altitudes. It is believed that a devotee can avoid untimely death by taking a bath in the Yamuna River.
Gangotri is a place of worship for the Goddess Ganga. The holy spot looks out over the River Bhagirathi, which is also known as the Ganga. The name comes from a myth about how the penance of the ancient King Bhagirath brought her to the world from paradise.
Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. In the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the temple is near the Mandakini river on the Garhwal Himalayan range. The temple is only open to the public between April (Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon) due to severe weather.
Hindu temple Badrinath, also known as the Badrinarayana Temple, is dedicated to Vishnu. It is in the Indian town of Badrinath in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated on the Alaknanda River banks. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu meditated here while his consort Lakshmi appeared as a Badri (berry) tree to provide him with shade.
